The curved crystal lens acts like a magnifying glass that lets you see the time more accurately, especially in the four little indicators at the bottom of the face. Of these indicators, two of them (the first and second from left, indicating the year and month) have to be set manually. The other two (24 hour clock and day of week, respectively) are synchronized with the clock machinery.
Although the watch is automatic, and the spring is loaded with natural wrist movement, it’s best to wind it a little manually every night to ensure its operation until the next morning.
Please note that if you bathe in the sea with the watch, it must be rinsed later with fresh water to prevent deterioration and salt water corrosion of the joints of the buttons and belt.
Also it should be noted that the accuracy of the clock can be slightly altered by altitude and latitude. This alteration may be higher if the watch is exposed to strong magnetic fields. This, however, holds true for many -if not most- mechanical watches. This watch is a solid performer and will continue to look good and work well for years to come.
